PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylindrical body surface inspection device capable of distinguishing a reflected wave from a defect from a reflected noise and having excellent defect discriminability. SOLUTION: A flaw detector 10 transmits ultrasonic pulse signals to a rolling roll RO which is an inspection object, sequentially from plural piezoelectric transducers 42-1, 42-2,..., 42-4. The flaw detector 10 controls ultrasonic wave transmission/reception by a probe 42, and extracts flaw detection data from received ultrasonic signals. A computer 20 records the ultrasonic signal received by the probe 42 in a recorder 50 independently relative to each piezoelectric transducer.
