METHOD FOR BATCH ANNEALING FE-CR STAINLESS STEEL COIL

PURPOSE: A method for batch annealing Fe-Cr stainless steel coil is provided to prevent quality deviations over stainless steel coil after batch annealing by warm charging of stainless steel coil. Such quality deviations are known to occur by temperature deviation found in hot-rolled steel slab on air cooling to ambient temperature, therefore there has been needs for homogeneous cooling of Fe-Cr stainless steel coil before charging into a batch annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION: In the manufacture method of Fe-Cr ferritic/martensitic stainless steel, the method is characterized in that Fe-Cr stainless steel coil before charging into a batch annealing furnace is cooled to around 100deg.C on its outermost part, differing from conventional cooling to ambient temperature., thereby it is possible to keep its core part at around 500deg.C.
