ELEMENT FOR METALLIC BELT, METALLIC BELT AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element for a metallic belt, the metallic belt and method of its assembly for making it possible to smoothly actuate upon a power trans mission of a stepless transmission gear. SOLUTION: The element 19 drawn from wire is longitudinally provided with pillars 32 erecting on both the sides of the body 31. It is configured as a recessed part 30 to house a band 18 between both of the pillars 32. On the band placing surface 31a of the body 31, an actuate part of the wire remains. The band 18 and a body 20 for preventing from dropping off are disposed in the recessed part 30 between the pillars. Therefore, lightweight of the element 19 can be achieved and the whole of the metallic belt 17 also becomes lighter.
