PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air suction vortex preventing apparatus of a pump by which a float can easily be mounted to and dismounted from the pump. SOLUTION: A float 40 for preventing air suction vortexes is arranged so as to vertically move and surround the pump 10 installed in a suction water vessel 55. The float 40 is composed of a bladder which expands by supplying air into its inside. Because the float 40 shrinks by extracting its inside air, the float 40 can easily inserted into and extracted from a pump inserting hole 52 even when the pump inserting hole 52 of the suction water vessel 55 is smaller than the outside diameter of the float 40.
