PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for operating a gas turbine, capable of readily grasping combustion efficiency and avoiding problems accompanying low combustion efficiency. SOLUTION: A mean outlet gas temperature TAT of a gas turbine which uses a low calorie gas is measured and supervised, so as to grasp the combustion efficiency of the gas turbine in this condition, and when the measured mean outlet temperature TAT is lowered down to a preset specified value, operation is limited upon deciding that the gas turbine has reached the permissible lowest load.
