PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a solution that cellulose acetate is dissolved in methyl acetate in a stable condition. SOLUTION: A mixed solvent of methyl acetate and acetoacetic alkyl ester is employed as a solvent, and is swelled and dissolved at 0 to 55 deg.C to prepare a cellulose acetate solution that the cellulose acetate having the mean acetification of 58.0 to 62.5% is dissolved at a concentration of 10 to 40 wt.%.
