PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that, when a running rotary compressor has stopped, lubricating oil, condensed liquid refrigerant, etc., flow from a high pressure sealed chamber into low pressure parts, such as a cylinder, an accumula tor communicated with the cylinder and the like through clearances between respective parts configuring compressor mechanisms, and when the compressor re-starts, the compressor sucks and compresses the liquid existing in the low pressure parts (so-called liquid compression) generating an abnormal noise. SOLUTION: A groove 20 is formed on a vane slot surface 14a at a side of a low pressure part 18 of a cylinder 4 so as to communicate with a space inside a sealed chamber 11. It becomes possible to prevent the coming of lubricating oil, liquid refrigerant, etc., by speeding-up pressure rise in the low pressure part 18 through feeding high pressure refrigerant gas.
