PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding member which needs not be classified from synthetic paper or a plastic film each time even if sheets of the synthetic paper or plastic films which have been used are bound or tied for collection. SOLUTION: The binding member 1 for binding or tying the used sheets of synthetic paper or plastic films 2 is formed of a thermoplastic elastomer as a material. The thermoplastic elastomer is preferably a polyolefin-based elastomer, and a member formed as a ring or an endless band can be employed as the binding member 1.
