The machine comprises a lock unit (28) which limits towards the top, during of the transport, the angular displacement of the cover in order to maintain the latter in the defined position by adjusting this retaining device. The machine has chassis (4), a rotor (5) connected to this chassis driven rotatably during work about a horizontal axis (5a), directed transversally in the forward direction (3) of the machine. There is a cover (23), for the tool, connected to the chassis by a hinge (24) of pivot type whose axis (24a) is parallel to the rotation axis of this rotor. There is an adjustable retaining device (25) which limits uniquely, the displacement of the cover about this hinge.
