PURPOSE: Provided is a separation device for unburned carbon that has a simple construction and can easily and effectively separate and remove unburned carbon in fly ash. CONSTITUTION: The separation device comprises a casing(2), a first rotation blade(3) and a second rotation blade(4). A pulverization chamber(5) is placed between the casing(2) and the first and second rotation blades. Operating an urging device(9) and at least one of the first and second rotation blades(3,4) creates channeling vortices within the pulverization chamber. Fly ash containing unburned carbon is fed into the pulverization chamber(5), and through at least repeated self-collision, unburned carbon is segregated and reduced in size while the remaining particular matter is similarly segregated and reduced in size.
