MOBILE TERMINAL HAVING LANGUAGE LEARNING FUNCTION AND CONTROLLING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A mobile terminal having a language learning function and a controlling method thereof are provided to offer a listening function for language study as well as mobile service by adding a language learning function to a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A keypad part(101) detects key operations for mobile service and language learning service. An RF(Radio Frequency) part(102) processes RF signals through radio interfacing with a mobile base station system. A battery part(103) supplies power for the operations of a mobile terminal(100). An external interface part(104) executes interfacing with an external PC(300) so as to download mobile service data and language study data from the PC(300). An MSM(Mobile Station Modem) chip set(105) executes CDMA modulation and demodulation for mobile service data. A flash ROM and SRAM(106) and an EEPROM(107) store data necessary for mobile service. A language learning function EEPROM(108) stores vocabulary data for language study. A microphone(109) receives audio data in a call mode. The microphone(109) also receives audio data for recording in a language study mode. A CODEC(110) converts the analog audio data inputted from the microphone(109) into digital audio data and transmits them to the MSM chip set(105). Also the CODEC(110) converts the digital audio data transmitted from the MSM chip set(105) into analog data. An amplification part(111) amplifies the analog audio data transmitted from the MSM chip set(105) and outputs them through a speaker(112). An LCD module(113) displays data to the external. A microprocessor(201) executes overall control for language study. A language learning function flash memory(203) stores the language study program and data downloaded from the PC(300) and the recorded audio data. A player-dedicated battery(205) is a special power supply for language study operations. A language study regeneration part(202) regenerates language study data according to the control of the microprocessor(201). An MP3 audio modulation part(204) modulates the data stored in the language learning function flash memory(203) in an MP3 method and supplies them to the language study regeneration part(202).
