摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusion splicing machine for optical fibers which can position the axis centers of the fibers in proper discharge position regardless of the size of the outside diameters and exactly analyze the plane of polarization even if a running-up phenomenon of the fibers has occurred when constant polarization optical fibers are rotated to be aligned. SOLUTION: The fusion splicing device has a structure to move a V-groove block 12 vertically so that the axis centers of the coated optical fibers 16 and 18 are placed in proper discharge position according to the size of the outside diameter of the optical fibers. This device also has a structure for holding the jacket part of the coated optical fibers to fusion-splice and a structure for re-clamping the fiber after moving a clamp 14 upward and the V-groove block 12 downward to eliminate the running-up phenomenon of the fibers at the time of the rotation of the constant polarization optical fibers.
