PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device for a vehicle capable of realizing a favorable braking operation on aμsplit road. SOLUTION: A steering system control device 2 controls the attitude for stabilizing the vehicle behavior by controlling steering mechanisms 2 and 3. A traveling system control device 60 controls the attitude for stabilizing the vehicle behavior by controlling braking mechanisms 53 and 54. When a brake pedal 51 is stepped on and a braking command is inputted, the traveling system control device 60 suspends the attitude control action or reduces an attitude control gain under the conditions that the attitude control by the steering system control device 2 is operated. The traveling system control device 60 controls the braking mechanisms 53 and 54 so as to exhibit the maximum braking force. This constitution can thus exhibit the maximum braking force, while stabilizing the vehicle behavior by the steering system control device 2.
