CHIP SEAL ASSEMBLY FOR ROTARY SCROLL COMPRESSOR AND SCROLL COMPRESSOR WITH THE CHIP SEAL ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a newly inventive chip seal forming a virtually hermetic seal between base members of scroll member opposite to at least either preferably both of inner spiral flanges for a rotary scroll compressor. SOLUTION: A chip seal assembly 126 is comprised of grooves 132 and 134 forming at least an end face 128 and 130 of a static spiral flange 74 of a static scroll member and an orbital spiral flange 72 of an orbital scroll member and inwardly expanding in the groove, compression members 136 and 138 arranged in the groove and chip seal members 140 and 142 lapped on the compression material. When a compression member remains in uncompressed state, the chip seal member protrudes from the end face. The chip seal member is made of non-metallic material, fluorosint material and PTFE base product, and a compressive member is made of elastomeric material, silicone rubber material and O-ring material with resistance to severe heat.
