PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion material which is a wooden cylindrical matter produced at a low cost, can be easily ignited with an ignition agent, and can be completely burned without being extinguished halfway. SOLUTION: This combustion material is a wooden cylindrical matter 10 which has a bottom plane 11 to be grounded and is burned when ignited. At the center part of the top plane 12 side of the cylindrical matter 10, a hole 13 into which an ignition agent T is charged and which has a bottom part for supporting the ignition agent T is formed; a penetrating hole penetrating from the bottom plane 11 of the cylindrical matter 10 to the bottom part of the hole 13 is formed; and a plurality of upper grooves 17 communicating from the side 15 of the cylindrical matter 10 and the upper plane 12 to the hole 13 are formed together with a plurality of lower grooves 18 which communicate from the side 15 and the bottom plane 11 to the penetrating hole and are different in phase from the upper grooves. Since the upper side of the ignition agent T is open, the agent T itself is burned well and the cylindrical matter 10 is smoothly ignited. Since air flows into the hole 13 through the upper grooves 17 and the lower grooves 18, the cylindrical matter 10 is smoothly burned from the upper side to the lower side.
