GAS PROCESSING EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR REACTOR POWER PLANT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide radioactive gas material in a reactor pressure vessel to a gas waste processing system after closing a main steam isolation valve during reactor shutdown. SOLUTION: The gas in the reactor pressure vessel 1 is guided to the gas waste processing system 19 by way of a reactor pressure vessel head spray pipe 8 and a main steam drain pipe 9a. By way of a bypass pipe 30 connecting the head spray pipe 8 and the main steam drain pipe 9a, the gas in the head spray pipe 8 is moved to the main steam drain pipe 9a. Bypass pipes 29 and 31 are also placed over a check valve 13 of the head spray pipe and a condenser 16 of the main steam pipe. Instead of the main steam drain pipe 9a, a reactor isolation cooling system can be used.
