Device and method for distance and velocity determination

Frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar is employed. The transmitted frequency is modulated with frequency ramps. The wave reflected by objects is received by equipment determining straight line separations and intersections, in a speed-separation diagram. Fixed target lines and their associated intersections are sorted by one unit. A further unit outputs spacings and/or speeds corresponding with the remaining intersections.
