PURPOSE: A device for intercepting scrap streaming into dust collector is provided to prevent clogging of a dust collecting pipe, accordingly increasing dust collection efficiency. CONSTITUTION: In a device for intercepting scrap streaming into dust collector which is connected to an elbow on the upper part of the roof of the electric furnace when the roof of an electric furnace is closed, and which is separated from the elbow when the roof of an electric furnace is opened, the apparatus comprises a frame(10) which is installed in front of the dust collection pipe so that the frame(10) encloses the dust collection pipe, and which is extended in a direction in which the roof of the electric furnace is closed; a sieve shaped intercepting screen(12) which blocks the cross section of the front of the dust collection pipe when the roof of the electric furnace is opened, which is moved parallel to a direction of closing of the roof of the dust collection pipe from the front of the dust collection pipe when the roof of the electric furnace is closed, and on which a plurality of holes(13) are formed; and link members(11) which comprise four links, wherein each two links are paired at the upper and lower parts of the intercepting screen(12) respectively, one ends of which are axially connected to the frame(10), and the other ends of which are axially connected to the intercepting screen(12) so that the four links of the link members(11) rotate the intercepting screen(12) parallel to the frame(10).
