PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently identify a microorganism in a specimen by analyzing its DNA. SOLUTION: A user amplifies a DNA fragment of a microorganism in a specimen, for example, using the PCR, and prepares electrophoretic data, which are transmitted from client computers 12 and 14 via communication network 10 to server computer 16, which accesses data base 16a that memorizes electrophoretic data of each microorganism, extracts corresponding microorganism(s), and transmits the obtained results to the client computers 12 and 14. A user need not send a specimen to an analyzer company, and can rapidly identify the microorganism based on the electrophoretic data. |
