PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for restarting the game of a game machine capable of maintaining the profit of a player, reducing the loads of the CPU of a main controller and restarting the game after power is restored in the case that a power failure occurs while the game machine is in an operation. SOLUTION: A memory A2 is incorporated in the main controller A1. At the time of the power failure of a main power unit A6, a game state immediately before the power failure backed up by a standby power source A7 is stored and preserved in the memory A2. After the power is restored, only control commands related to a pattern storage display lamp and a probability fluctuation display lamp related to a pattern display device A3 stored in the memory A2 among the various kinds of the display lamps of the display device A5 of the game machine are selected and retransmitted from the main controller A1 to a lamp controller A4. The other display lamps are not displayed until the game is restarted and a new control command is sent.
