PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic system for which the localization of the distal end section of an endoscopic insertion portion having an observing section can be measured easily with accuracy and which can record obtained localization information of the front end section as data usable for classification or retrieval. SOLUTION: This endoscopic system is constituted mainly of an ultrasonic endoscope, an endoscopic image processor, an ultrasonograph, a localization and shape detecting device, and a data base server. The data about the localization information of the distal end of the endoscopic insertion portion calculated by means of the localization and shape detecting device are collected as a localization information text data file and the text data file is collected as a synthesized file which can be displayed together with an ultrasonic image BMP data file which contains the image data of ultrasonic images stored by the ultrasonogragh by correlating the text data file with the ultrasonic image BMP data file. The synthesized film is stored in the data base server.
