PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent trimming chips from scattering and mixing into a discharge conveyor and further, from jumping in the driving section of a transferring chuck. SOLUTION: In the trimmer for forming a head provided with a trimming die 11 provided in a machine base 2, a trimming punch 12 having a cutter edge 12a moving back and forth relative to the die 11 in front of the die 11 and trimming the outer periphery of the head hexagonally by pressing into the die 11 of a bolt stock with a round head, and a hummering member hummering the bolt stock A with the hexagonal head trimmed by the punch 12 toward the punch side and separating trimming chips a from the outer peripheral part of the head, the punch 12 is provided with a cylindrical cutter 12a trimming the outer periphery of the head of the bolt stock A and a cap 15 preventing the trimming chips from scattering outward.
