PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of precisely forming a work to have a required shape without bringing defects and flaws and designing a durable forging die. SOLUTION: A forging die designed in compliance with a forging process is simulated for forming (STP2) and the formability is evaluated (STP3). Then, the wear rate of the forging die is estimatted (STP4). A forming simulation is carried out (STP5) on the assumption that the forging die M is worn down, and the formability is evaluated (STP6). The wear rate is estimate based on the wear rate data base DB of actual performance results (STP4).
