PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and lightweight electric vacuum cleaner by compactly integrating a suction passage and an exhaust passage. SOLUTION: The electric vacuum cleaner is provided with an electric blower 2, a dust collecting chamber 5 communicating with a suction side of the electric blower 2, a sucking means 12 for sucking dust on a surface to be cleaned, and the suction passage 8 connected with a periphery wall of the dust collecting chamber 5 for communicating the dust collecting chamber 5 and the sucking means 12, wherein at least a part of exhaust 19 generated from the electric blower 2 is flowed back to the sucking means 12. The exhaust passage 9 through which the exhaust 19 generated from the electric blower 2 passes, and the suction passage 8 are arranged side by side, wherein the exhaust passage 9 for sending the exhaust 19 generated from the electric blower 2 to a front part of a body 1, and the suction passage 8 are placed together in one part so that the suction passage 8 are arranged inside the exhaust passage 9. Thereby, the small and lightweight electric vacuum cleaner can be provided.
