PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting device usuable as a partitioning furniture which is installed between a floor and a ceiling. SOLUTION: A device for supporting furniture is provided with the following parts: A grounding part 2 for settlement can be raised to and lowered to a position between the lowest and the highest positions that wheels 5A, 5B, 6 for moving, placed on the bottom of the furniture, can take in terms of grounding levels of the wheels. A driving means 4 for lifting and lowering functions for the grounding part 2 for settlement. A wheel 6 for moving is attached at the end of a movable frame 7, which can be pulled out forward against the furniture. The device for supporting furniture is designed to support the furniture with the wheels 5A, 5B, 6 for moving as it can be moved on a floor 47 when the grounding part 2 for settlement is located at the upper position relative to the grounding level of the wheels. The driving means 4 for lifting and lowering is provided with a handle 17, which can be removed and attached, and the handle 17 is used to rotate an axis of rotation for driving or a spiral axis 14. The movable frame 7 contains a housing part 34 for the handle 17.
