PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate cutter for a resin molded article which has a simplified structure and facilitates operations for assembling and maintenance, reducing the number of components of a cutting edge opening-closing mechanism, and which enables attainment of a cutting face of high smoothness, eliminating an error of movement of a cutting edge, and besides enables lessening of the frequency of replacement of the cutting edge, reducing 'crushing' thereof. SOLUTION: A drive source 11 is constituted of a linear servo motor, and cutting edge fitting arms 12A and 12B constituting the cutting edge opening- closing mechanism 12 are mounted by assignment respectively on a pair of armatures 11C of the linear servo motor, while the cutting edges 5A are fitted to the respective fore end parts of the cutting edge fitting arms 12A and 12B with cutting edge fitting bases 15A and 15B interposed.
