PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atmosphere cleaning method which is easy to operate and is usable on various scales from small to large, and further, enables the recovery of an organic halogen compound contained in the atmosphere at a low cost. SOLUTION: This atmosphere cleaning method is to bring the atmosphere containing the organic halogen compound into gas/solid contact with a solid host compound in a closed system space and recover a host/guest compound composed of the organic halogen compound and the host compound.
