PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight pneumatic tire easily disposed of as industrial waste, excellent in controllability, the characteristics of riding comfort under a vibrational condition, and the like. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire, having a pair of bead parts, a carcass continuing into the bead parts in a toroidal shape, belt layers for hooping the crown part of the carcass, and a tread, is characterized as follows: at least one layer of the belt layers is formed of a monofilament-shaped hybrid cord; the initial modulus retention of the hybrid cord at 25-170 deg.C is 50% or more; and the rate of occupancy of the hybrid cord in the belt layer is 50 vol.% or more. Preferable conditions are as follows: the hybrid cord is composed of a matrix material containing an at least 50 wt.% filament whose strength is 3.08 cN/dtex or more and provided with an island structure constituted of the filament and the matrix; the diameter of the hybrid cord is 0.2-1.0 mm; and the like. |
