NEW METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-CHIRO-1-INOSOSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method by which L-chiro-1-inosose useful as a raw material for synthesizing medicines and having enzyme inhibition activity by itself can easily and efficiently be produced. SOLUTION: This method for producing the L-chiro-1-inosose is characterized in that the method is composed of making a microorganism having ability capable of transforming myo-inositol to L-chiro-1-inosose act on the myo-inositol to generate the L-chiro-1-inosose by the transformation of the myo-inositol to the L-chiro-1-inosose. The L-chiro-1-inosose can inexpensively and efficiently be produced by the method.
