PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a driving power supply of a fishing line length. measurement apparatus without causing enlargement of a fishing reel. SOLUTION: In this fishing reel equipped with a spool (2) supported between both side plates of a fishing reel main body rotatably by a handle attached to the fishing reel main body (1), a level-winding mechanism (7) arranged so as to reciprocate between both the side plates by the handle ahead the spool between both the side plates and a fishing line length measurement apparatus for measuring/informing a fishing line length played out from the spool of the fishing line which is wound on or played out from the spool (2), a housing cylindrical body (28) for detachably housing the driving power supply (26) for the fishing line length measurement apparatus is installed between both the side plates above or below the level-winding mechanism.
