PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel positioning device for works by which a new working position is decided where a space for a welding work can be secured as wide as possible, while positions of one work and the other work can be certainly decided. SOLUTION: The device which decides a welding position for one work F constituting a car and the other work P carried by a conveyor 2 in a state that it is temporarily fixed to the work F, is provided with a lifting unit 5 constituted of a rise and fall frame 6 which can be lifted or lowered by a rise and fall devices 40, 42 and an upper side positioning device 7 fixed to the rise and fall frame 6 to position the work P with respect to the work F fixed to the rise and fall frame 6, and a lower side positioning device 4 provided below the rise and fall frame 6 to position the works F, P at the lower side. The upper side of the works F, P is positioned by the upper side positioning device 7 fixed to the lowered rise and fall frame 6 and the lower side thereof is positioned by the lower side positioning device 4.
