PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an austenitic stainless steel iron which is prevented from generation of roping and excellent in the surface quality and the manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: An austenitic stainless steel sheet processed by in-line rolling reduction and heat treatment after casting in a double drum type continuous casting system, is a thin casting slab in which a high angle intercrystalline rate of the crystalline texture exceeds 85% of the whole intercrystal. This thin casting slab is manufactured by the rolling control of a casting slab produced by the double drum type continuous casting system at a rolling reduction of 20-35% in the in-line process and subsequently, it is processed by a heat treatment equivalent to 1,100 deg.C for 7 sec. or longer processing time.
