PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a drag produced by a drag mechanism and to better effectiveness of the drag mechanism in a fishing reel. SOLUTION: In this fishing reel having a main gear with a key slot, a shaft and a drag washer mechanism using a washer laminate, the improved drag washer laminate is equipped with plural washers, at least one among the plural washers is made of a friction imparting material having a high coefficient of friction, at least one washer has an edge part extended from the periphery of a washer to be engaged with the key slot of the main gear and at least one washer among the plural washers is provided with a metal washer to be engaged by a key with a shaft passing through the main gear so as to be engaged with the washer of the friction imparting material.
