PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a compact cutting device. SOLUTION: This printer is provided with a printing part performing printing on rolled paper 2, a cutting unit 16 cutting out the rolled paper 2 into a predetermined shape, and rollers 10 and 11 feeding the rolled paper 2 from the printing part to the cutting unit 16, and the cutting unit 16 is provided with a cutter 19 and a table 7. The cut shape of the rolled paper 2 is formed by a rectangular coordinate system constructed of the rolled paper 2 feeding direction and the width direction crossing the rolled paper 2 feeding direction at right angles, and a blade edge of the cutter 19 can be rotated freely around an axis substantially orthogonal to the rolled paper 2 face, while the cutter 19 decides a width directional movement amount of the rolled paper 2 in cutting the rolled paper 2. The rollers 10 and 11 decide a feeding direction movement amount for reciprocating the rolled paper 2 according to the rolled paper 2 cut shape, and the rolled paper 2 is cut out in accordance with the predetermined shape according to width directional movement amount control of the cutter 19 and feeding directional movement amount control of the rollers 10 and 11.
