PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent curling of a web at warming-up operation time and sup press occurrence of a spoilage as much as possible when resuming printing, regarding an operating method for a printing machine and a printing machine. SOLUTION: A plate cylinder 24 and an impression cylinder 15 abut on each other. A web 1 is passed between the impression cylinders 15 for printing. Cleaning of the plate cylinder 24, replacement of a press plate 24, and the like are carried out under the condition of withdrawing the plate cylinder 24. After printing operation is finished, the web 1 in a printing part 2 is given enough tension to keep a constant tension, then the warming-up operation is carried out.
