PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer film causing no void in a print, enabling execution of clear printing and further having a function of preventing leak of secret information, and a method of forming an image. SOLUTION: An intermediate layer and a colored layer are provided on a base film. The intermediate layer contains a hot-melt substance of which the melting viscosity in a temperature region higher by 15-25 deg.C than the melting peak temperature thereof is 100-1000 mPa.s and of which the melting peak temperature and the crystallization peak temperature are within the ranges of 50-110 deg.C and -20 to 100 deg.C respectively, the latter being lower by 10 deg.C or above than the former, and a nontransferable binder resin of which the softening temperature is 130-400 deg.C. Even when a printed part is somewhat cooled till the release thereof after printing, the interface of the colored layer of the intermediate layer is in a state of being melted and of low viscosity due to the supercooling properties of the hot-melt substance and the colored layer is transferred onto transfer object paper with a low force of release. Thus an excellent print causing void little is obtained even for rough paper. |
