PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit and receive (interaction) data concerning sewing data and driving program data between a sewing machine controller and a central computer. SOLUTION: In a device for data communication between a sewing machine (2) having the programmable sewing machine controller (4) and a first operation terminal (7) and the central computer (16) spacially separated from the sewing machine (2) and capable of being connected to the sewing machine (2) through a data transmitter, the sewing machine controller (4) is connected to the central computer (16) through a control computer isolated from the sewing machine controller (4) assigned to the first operation terminal (7). The control computer is formed to input the driving program and the sewing data to the sewing machine controller (4).
