PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating a cane press residue which collects fine bagasse (bagacillo) efficiently from bagasse without causing clogging. SOLUTION: A plurality of separation bars 10 having triangular cross sections are arranged in the slanted guide part 2 of a chute 1 which can make bagasse fall by its own weight so that some sides of the bars 10 are located on the same plane, the bars 10 are arranged parallel at slit 11 intervals which fine bagasse 14 can enter to be fixed between square frame bodies 4a, a fine bagasse screen 4 in which a space 12 expanding slantingly is formed is installed attachably/detachably below the slits 11, a hopper 5 which can house the bagasse 14 is installed on the lower surface of the guide part 2 to enclose the fine bagasse screen 4, a space 7 which can accept/remove the fine bagasse screen 4 is formed in the hopper 5 having a machine 6 for cutting the fine bagasse quantitatively in its lower part, and the space 7 can be opened/closed by a lid body 8.
