PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print a printable area without performing a useless printing operation nor a useless paper feed operation. SOLUTION: The driving quantity given to a paper feeding motor is set to a counter in a stage 301, the value of the counter is further updated to residual driving quantity in a stage 303 whenever paper is sent, on the other hand, residual paper feed quantity is set to another counter in a stage 305 after a paper detecting means detects that paper does not exist and the value of the counter is further updated to the number of residual paper feeding times in a stage 308 whenever paper is sent. A printing operation or a paper feed operation in the printing operation is decided by referring to either or both the values of the two counters updated in these ways, and a printable area is printed so that a useless printing or paper feed operation can be suppressed. |
