PURPOSE:To obtain a measuring system detecting and quantifying a viral hepatitis C(HCV) related antigen present in the body fluid or liver such as urine, serum, plasma or cerebrospinal fluid of an non A non B (NANB) hepatitis patient or cells or tissue pieces occurring therefrom and to also obtain a separate kind of an anti-HCV antibody measuring system using an antigen other than a C100-3 antigen. CONSTITUTION:The antibody to capsid protein encoded by the HCV 5' terminal region corresponding to the code region on the side of the 5'-terminal wherein an amino acid sequence is preserved between sub-types is prepared. The antibody to capsid protein encoded by the HCV 5' terminal region has high HCV related antigen bonding capacity and, when it is subjected to an immunohistochemical or immunochemical measuring method, an HCV related antigen can be detected and quantified and, when said antibody is used, the HCV related antigen can be efficiently purified. By using capid protein as an antigen, the antibody to the viral hepatitis C related antigen can be detected highly frequently. |
