PURPOSE:To let an optical recording medium to exhibit excellent effect in a melting degree or an absorption wavelength at the time when a phthalocyanine compound to be represented by a specific formula is used as an optical recording medium by making the phthalocyanine compound to contain in a recording layer on a base. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium contains phthalocyanine compound represented by the formula I in a recording layer provided on a base, wherin W represents halogen atom, X represents a replacement group of a group of formulas II-VIII, Y represents the replacement group selected out of the group of the formulas II-VIII; Z represents a replacement group defined in relation to the Y or a monomer or dialkyl amino group possessing a straight chain or ramified chain alkyl having 1-20 pieces of carbon atoms which may be replaced, n represents an integer of 1-4, m represents an integer of 0-3 and M represents a metal or an oxy metal or metallic salt. Then, in the formulas II-VIII, R1, R2, R3 and R5 represent an alkyl group, A represents CH group, B represents an alkyl amino group, a and b represent an integer of 1-5, d, i and g represent an integer of 0-4, e and j represent an integer of 1-4, k represents an integer of 0-5, a represents an integer of 1-20, and q represents a number of hydrogen atoms. |
