HORIZONTAL SHIFT TYPE OPTICAL SWITCH USING TEC FIBER

PURPOSE: A horizontal shift type optical switch using a TEC(Thermally-diffused Expanded Core) fiber is provided to improve a switching time and power consumption of a mechanical switch by changing a structure of an optical switch from a rotary method to a horizontal shift method and using a TEC fiber. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal shift type main body(200) is formed by an input terminal(210) having input ports of N number, an output terminal(220), and a motor stage for connecting the input terminal(210) with the output terminal(220). The input terminal(210), the output terminal(220), and the motor stage have a flat structure. The input terminal(210) has a fixed structure. The output terminal(220) is moved horizontally on the motor stage. A TEC fiber is fixed by a fixing portion. The output terminal(220) is controlled by a motor. An expanded core is formed in the TEC fiber in order to input and output optical signals smoothly.
