PURPOSE: A method for converting QuarkXpress documents into XML documents is provided to be capable of simply converting documents prepared with QuarkXpress into XML document files without separate artificial processes. CONSTITUTION: First, text data and figure data are extracted from documents prepared with QuarkXpress. Then, the extracted text and figure data are stored as a temporary file. Next, the positions of the extracted figure data are stored. Then, the style type of the extracted text is acquired and the text and the style type are matched to be stored. Next, an XML tag most similar to the acquired style type is determined. Then, the determined tag is applied to a text document. Finally, the stored figure is inserted into a predetermined position using the tag.
