PURPOSE: A driving method of a fatness measuring apparatus is provided to measure the height accurately, and to prescribe for fatness reliably by mounting a height measuring frame in a base and setting the scale of the height measuring frame as the height value from the base. CONSTITUTION: A fatness measuring device is composed of a base having a weight detecting sensor(12), a height measuring frame, a touch unit, a scale indicating unit having plural scales at regular intervals, a controller(50), a button unit(60) and a display unit(70). A touch rod is moved up and down with assembling with a lift block to touch the head of a user in measuring the height, and a touch sensor(32a) is installed in the touch rod. An optical sensor(33) is moved up and down with detecting the scales of the scale indicating unit in moving up and down the lift block. The touch unit is moved down in inputting a height measuring setup signal, and the pulse number counted by the scale is memorized with measurements. The pulse number till touching counts by receiving the weight and moving down the touch unit, and the controller outputs the height and the fatness according to the read pulse number, the reference pulse number and measurements. The fatness is measured precisely with detecting the height.
