PURPOSE: An intermittent line display method of a vertical/horizontal laser leveler is provided to display a various dotted line or an intermittent line by scanning the intermittent line electronically with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION: A pulse signal synchronized in a rotating mirror is detected(10), and an output square wave is formed(11) with counting the synchronous pulse signal(9). The square wave is converted into a sine wave(12), and a pulsating wave is formed with passing through a rectifying circuit(13). A synchronous trigger VCO(voltage control oscillator)(30) synchronizes oscillation with the synchronized pulse signal as a trigger signal. Frequency is modulated in inputting the pulsating wave to a VCO terminal, and oscillation output is input to a synchronous parallel counter circuit(50). A final signal is made(70) with operating the counter signal by a logic combination circuit(80), and a laser beam is turned on and off according to the final signal. The intermittent line or the dotted line is displayed with the laser beam by adjusting bias voltage on the VCO.
