PURPOSE: An air pump apparatus is provided to allow manufacturing and assembly of the pump apparatus to be easily performed and reduce the size of the pump, while preventing damage of the motor and increasing pumping force of the pump. CONSTITUTION: An air pump apparatus comprises a valve housing(10) having air passages(11,12), a protrusion(13) and a recessed groove(14); a valve plate(20) mounted onto the valve housing, and which has suction valves(21,22) and exhaust valves(23,24); a lower diaphragm case(30) mounted onto the valve plate, and which has vertical walls(31,31a), elongated holes(32,32a), and air holes(33,33a); a diaphragm(40) mounted onto the lower diaphragm case, and which has diaphragm portions(41,41a) having spaces(42,42a), and driving portions(43,43a) having coupling protrusions(44,44a), wherein the diaphragm is compressed and expanded by the pressure of the air; an upper diaphragm case(50) mounted onto the diaphragm, and which has a mounting groove(51) and support holes(52,52a) for insertion of diaphragm portions of the diaphragm; an operating arm(60) mounted onto the mounting groove, and which has a shaft hole(67a) formed at the center of the operating arm; a motor base(70) including a body(71) with a coupling portion to be coupled with the outer surface of the diaphragm portion of the diaphragm, and a protruded piece(72) having an installation portion(72a) communicated to the coupling portion of the body; an eccentric cam(80) having an eccentric shaft(81) and an eccentric hole(82), and which allows the operation arm to reciprocate; and a motor(90) having a motor shaft(91) to be coupled into the eccentric hole of the eccentric cam.
