The skateboard has a long board (1) and four wheels (2) carried on front and rear directional axles (4). A high speed ferrite magnet electric motor (5) is fixed by collars (6) to the front axle and drives it through reduction gearing (7,8) with protective frame (9). The motor is powered by a battery (10) carried under the middle section and two foot switches enable functions such as regenerative braking, free wheeling and maximum acceleration to be selected.
