ROTARY APPARATUS FOR DRYING SLUDGE

PURPOSE: A rotary sludge dryer is provided, which is characterized in that sludge adhered to internal wall of entrance of the rotary sludge dryer is separated by thermal expansion and contraction of a spiral pipe. The spiral pipe is expanded only in a direction of radius for separating adhered sludge. Holding pipes are equipped with the spiral pipe for preventing expansion of the spiral pipe in a direction of axis. The spiral pipe is installed in the rotary sludge dryer with spaced apart between the spiral pipe and internal wall of entrance of the apparatus before thermal expansion. After thermal expansion, the spiral pipe is adhered closely to the internal wall of the entrance. CONSTITUTION: The rotary sludge dryer is heated up to 700 deg.C by a burner(10) before injection of non-dried sludge. And the spiral pipe(20) is expanded thermally in a direction of radius, and adhered closely to the internal wall of the entrance. Continuously sludge is injected in the heated dryer. Injected sludge is dried by internal temperature of the dryer, and crushed by a crushing blade(3). When sludge is adhered to the internal wall, cool air is supplied to the spiral pipe(20) through a pipe(25) for supplying cool air. Therefore, the spiral pipe(20) is contracted in a direction of radius, and adhered sludge(30) is separated. Separated sludge is crushed by the crushing blade(3).
