PURPOSE: A sealing apparatus for roof ditch of motor vehicle is provided to reliably seal the gap formed between the roof panel and the side outer panel, by spot-welding the superimposed roof panel and side outer panel and attaching a sealing tape around the welded portion. CONSTITUTION: A side outer panel(12) forming a roof ditch(14) includes an inclined surface(12a) formed by bending the end of the side outer panel, and a horizontal surface(12b) formed by bending, in a horizontal direction, the end of the inclined surface. A roof panel(100) includes an inclined surface(10a) and a horizontal surface(10b). The roof panel and the side outer panel are coupled in such a manner that horizontal surfaces of the roof panel and the side outer panel are superimposed and spot-welded. The roof panel has a flange(10c) formed at the end of the horizontal surface of the roof panel. A sealing tape(20) is attached from beneath the flange to the intermediate portion of the inclined surface of the side outer panel. The sealing tape melts during hardening and infiltrates into the gap formed between the roof panel and the side outer panel, to thereby obtain a reliably sealed state.
