The metal frame (12) of the crampon comprises a fixed guide roller (24) with a retaining lug which engages an adjustment part of the slide (16). A lock (30) can occupy an inactive position when the slide slides in the guide roller and a position locking the slide in the lug after longitudinal adjustment. The lock is made from a folded steel wire whose two ends (36,38) are introduced into two offset grooves (36a,36b) of the frame.
